Accessibility at Sinter
Last updated: 28 September 2026
What we are aiming for
Sinter targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Everyone should be able to sign in, read, post, reply, report and change their settings using a keyboard, a screen reader or a touch screen, in both light and dark themes and with larger text.
What we tested
Keyboard: every core action can be reached and used without a mouse, and the control in focus is always visible.
Contrast: text and interface colours are checked against the AA contrast ratios, with automated rules and spot checks by hand.
Screen reader labels: every button, link, field and image has a name that matches what it does, so nothing is announced as unlabelled.
Known limitations
As of the date above, these gaps are still open:
- Some signed-in pages still have more than one top-level landmark, which makes landmark navigation noisier than it should be. The content is reachable; the structure is being tidied.
- The landing-page gallery has wrapper markup that automated checks flag. The images and links inside it are reachable and labelled; the wrapper is being corrected.
- Some small supporting text on the signed-out landing page has been checked with automated contrast rules only, not yet by hand.
- Screen reader passes with NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack are in progress and are not finished.
Tell us about a problem
If something is hard or impossible to use, please tell us on the Support page. Mention the page and what you were trying to do. You do not need an account to get in touch.
We update this statement as gaps close, and change the date above when we do.
